Format Koda cooperates with suppliers of automated and robotic warehouse equipment, as well as with companies involved in the integration of such equipment. Format Koda is looking for new technological partnerships in the following areas:

• integration of equipment with the local (Russian-made) software for warehouse management (WMS, WCS systems)
• customization of software from the equipment manufacturer to the specifics of the Russian market
• development of basic software for equipment manufacturers (RCS systems)
• tech support for software on the clients side here in Russia

Warehouse logistics automation, optimization and automation of warehouse management require a set of specialized software solutions.

The WMS system, designed to optimize and support the functionality of the warehouse complex, works in close connection with other warehouse information systems. Many of them cannot be implemented as an «out-of-the box» solutions and require individual development taking into account the specifics of a particular warehouse.

Levels of control systems for the shifts of goods in the warehouse

• PLC (programmable logic controller) is responsible for controlling one object (crane, loader, etc.)
• MFC (material flow control) manages a group of similar pieces of equipment (several loaders)
• RCS (robot control system) is used in the case of robots in the warehouse and is responsible for navigation robots, collision avoidance, charging management
• WCS (warehouse control system) provides a single interface for a wide range of loading and unloading equipment such as conveyor systems, sorters, pallet stackers, etc.

While PLC, MFC, and RCS are usually supplied with hardware, the WCS system is most specific to the hardware, software, and business processes used in the particular warehouse. It stays in between WMS and other systems.

If required, all warehouse operations can be integrated with the enterprise ERP business process system (enterprise resource planning), which manages orders, inventories and other resources.
